My test was performed on a Linux VM running on very modest hardware (a Late 2012 Mac Mini, i7-3615QM, 16 GB RAM). The VM has 2 CPUs and 4 GB RAM configured. So, my test configuration was fairly resource-constrained. However, I was only testing two back-to-back recordings. I was just testing that it should work, in the ideal case.
Something to keep in mind is how the programs are shown in the the DVR Schedule before vs. after the recordings are completed. Before the programs are complete, they’re shown with the actual recording timeframe. For example, it might show 2:29-3:01PM for a 30 minute show padded with one minute on both sides… After the recording has completed, it displays the program’s airing time. For the same example above, it would show 2:30-3:00PM. However, the contents of the recording are still correct.
This could lead to some confusion, leading one to believe that some of each recording was lost, if the actual recordings weren’t viewed. I’m not suggesting that’s what happened here, it’s just something to be aware of.
